THE QUESTION

Bridging the Gap
Any SOLUTIONS as to how to bridge the gap between generations concerning this "black problem?" I recently saw a post on another site about "black friday" where we were supposed to boycott businesses last friday. What are we going to start singing kumba ya again too? Or we shall overcome over the Edmund Pettus bridge? The past was VERY SUCCESSFUL, however it's (as in the words of 10000 Men Philly) A NEW DAY. We need new ideas, new organizational structures and a new way of thinking. So, elders from the 60s how are you going to work with us from the 80s and 00s?

the first thing I would like to say is, why is there a gap and why is it so big. how or who dropped the ball? I feel we need to get back to parenting, to raising our kids, and in raising our kids it will take everyone around us. This is a good way to start bridging the gap. Parents have to be made to start taking some responsibilty for their lack of parenting, because it's effecting everyone. I don't believe it takes a million dollars or 5cents to discipline or teach your child manners or respect for themselves and others. We can go back to teaching our children some home training. How hard is it, or how much does it cost to maybe start singing your babies the A,B,C song to sleep at night, or when your walking on the street point things out and talk to them. All of these things cost nothing -- so people please stop talking about how the government doesn't give enough support or how your to poor. It needs to start with basic home training and some love, caring, and patients.

WE MUST TEACH OUR YOUNG THAT WE ARE ONE IN THE SAME PEOPLE. The old is no different than the young. The light skined is no different than the dark skined ones. We must promote love of self because we are of self. Different but the same. Different but the same family. Our reality is that we are one. It is not so much that we need something new when we never did embrace the old. God has blessed us with many Leaders, teachers and guide, but we have never gotten whole heartedly behind the wisdom that these men and women pocessed. We must go back into our divine inner being and embrace what was ment to be the reality of our liberation as it was divinely manifested. Because we have not honored or mothers and fathers of old (visionaries) we have not progressed into the divine beings we were created to be. It would be new if we (collectively) accepted what our own will (visionaries) have produced and stand on them as being the only reality as others have stood on theirs as being the only reality.
