The answer is a James Evans Senior in every household. As you remember, James Evans Senior was the fictional patriarch on the 70's series "Good Times." James Evans Senior was strong, fair, firm, and dedicated to his family. He was without doubt the head of his family, Although he was not well educated and worked different low paying jobs, he led by example and did all he could to encourage his children to educate themselves and have better lives. The problems of black America are easily identifiable and easily correctible. A strong motivated black father/father figure in the household. Black motherhood, no matter how good, is an adequate substitute for black fatherhood. Black America is well aware of this. Yet black leaders and organizations are too cowardly to admit this. Additionally black people themselves do not have the moral courage to stop engaging in self destructive conduct. We as a people are an embarrassment to those whoses shoulders we stand on.
