THE QUESTION

How can I find opportunities to volunteer in my community?
I would like to teach people necessary job skills, like how to use the computer. I am also interested in other volunteering.

A friend of mine used this site to help him find volunteers to help him build his non-profit website:

Basicaly, you can search for organizations in your area that need volunteers or if you are looking for volunteer help you can create an opportunity so people can contact you. Really useful.

I volunteer at my local mental health drop in center.
You need to just start asking around in your community because you don't know what they need.
Because who would think that someone need to learn how to use a computer at a mental health center?

There's always Red Cross United Way Salvation Army. You can start there and learn the "system" of help in your community.
